There will be a great day of orientation, tours, and site visits put together by Earthworks this Sunday as described below. EARTHWORKS ORIENTATION – EARTHSHIP TOUR and SITE TOUR and MEMBERS MEETING on SUNDAY – We will be having an EARTHWORKS Intensive Orientation on Sunday April 11th a full day consisting of …
10:00 a.m. ORIENTATION – Earthwalk Eco Education Centre 247 County Road #25 north of Colborne. Travel 401 to Colborne (Big Apple) exit #497 then go north on #25 just about 500 yards on the right you will see a orange and green gate house at #247 , go through the gate and the pine forest until you see the log building. Come to the front door. Orientation will consist of a 15 minute tour of the Education Centre and a 1 hour presentation about the project followed by a half hour question and answer session and a brown bag lunch break.
12:30 Depart for Earthship Tour – We will be visiting an earthship that is being build in Prince Edward County. This structure is similar to the ones that we will be building at Earthworks. This is a unique opportunity to get a look at the construction phase and see what goes behind the finished structure.
2:00 Depart for the Project Site Tour. – We will be Stopping at the Tim Hortons on Hwy 7 just north of Madoc for a pit stop and snack then at 3:00 we will be moving on to the site tour which will take approximately 3 hours.
7:00 Earthworks Community Members Meeting Members will be meeting at Earthwalk back in Colborne for a Pot Luck Members Meeting . The evening discussion will include several project updates and a design considerations. This meeting should be over by 9:00: p.m.
