Below is a call for help from Garnet McPherson, the Eco Village Designer, Educator and the Editor of Sustainable Living Magazine. The Earthworks Eco Village is in dire need of immediate funding to secure the land it wants for it’s village concept. Please read on if you’re interested in helping out. The deadline is literally a few days away, so if you want to help, please act now. Here’s what Garnet has to say:
[ad#post-skyscraper]
We only have three days to meet our $85,000 target to secure the ideal piece of land for this village. We are well on our way to that figure but we need your support and your help to find the rest of the funds we need to reach that target.
If you have been thinking about membership now is the time to join! If you know someone who could invest in creating a sustainable future with Earthwalk please let them know about the project today or pass on this letter! If you know someone who could lend us the seed capital to get us to our target please have them contact us immediately!
If we don’t reach our target by noon on Friday we will loose the 74 acre site we took years to find to a higher bidder! So please take a look at your piggy bank and or suggest someone who has a healthy one that could help this project get off the ground! We are so close and Earthworks Eco Village could change our world as we know it!
As you know Earthwalk Sustainable Living Center is facilitating the creation of a demonstration Eco community in Eastern Ontario on 75 south sloping acres of organic fields featuring hydro, solar, and wind power generation sufficient to provide for the whole community. Earthworks provides us not only a wonderful place to live but a place to learn, create, work and play all in the context of our natural world. http://www.facebook.com/l/4411c;www.earthworksecovillage.com
EARTHWORKS ECO VILLAGE is being designed to be an example of optimized ecologically based community living. To provide food security for the community edible forest gardens will be integrated into the landscape around the Eco homes we will be building. Our goals include meeting the human needs of our membership, so we are incorporating not only food and energy security but resources for education, Eco business, natural health and recreation into our site plan.
ECO SHELTERS – Earthworks will be utilizing a wide variety of green building technologies and techniques to insure that our Eco Homes will demonstrate environmentally responsible and healthy building systems. The homes at Earthworks are being designed to be completely self heating and self cooling, providing their own energy and water. They are designed around self sufficiency. Interior green houses for food production and cold rooms for food storage are being incorporated into the structures. Earthworks will be a community of mindfully designed and environmentally integrated accommodations for members of the community.
ECO EDUCATION – As a teaching center Earthworks in conjunction with Earthwalk’s Eco Ed Centre will be developing a whole series of courses on Sustainability and Natural Health including, a planned degree program in sustainability through an international university.
ECO ENTERPRISE – We will be building and developing a business center on the Earthworks site designed to incubate new eco businesses for our members that can employ community members with income generation activities that are congruent with sustainability. Earthwalk already have dozens of Eco Biz projects in the works that can thrive and grow within the community. We will also be building a natural health centre that will be developing and offering a variety of education, treatment and retreat programs focused on regaining and maintaining optimal health.
GREEN HOUSE ENTERPRISE CENTRE INC will be managing the hard assets for the community. It will be investing on the land, completing necessary severances and preparing the site for development.
SEED CAPITAL – Earthwalk Eco Education Centre has provided much of the research and planning that is going into the Earthworks Project. All further development funds will be coming from our community members. We took several years to find the perfect property and we need to secure it now. With over $190K in assets and very little debt we currently have $177K in equity. With this land acquisition and strategic severances we can increase the equity for the project up to $447K. We are looking for a strategic investment/loan in the project of $100K to secure the land and commence the project. All other development funds will be coming from our eco businesses and our community members as we develop the project in each phase. Time is of the essence or we will miss the invaluable opportunity this land presents as there is a higher offer has been made. So if you are interested in joining or know someone who can invest or lend the community seed funds at this stage now is the time to act. Please contact us if you know someone who can support this project.
SUSTAINABLE LIVING – Earthworks will demonstrate that we can live, work and play in harmony with the Earth, and enrich our lives and our natural eco systems at the same time. It can be used for a template to create other truly sustainable communities across the country. At Earthworks we will be creating sustainable and healthy lifestyles in a mindfully planned ecologically based community. The Earthworks project is a grand opportunity to learn from the past, integrate with the present and create the kind of future that we all want to see.
Green House Enterprise Centre Inc will be establishing and securing the assets for the creation of a truly exceptional community. Investing in this project is investing in creating possibilities for our future. We will be creating sustainable and healthy lifestyles within our community and serving as a template for other sustainable development projects across the country and around the world. Please ask for our Business Plan and consider investing in this shining example of what is truly possible. Thank you for your support.
