Hi Joe. I may run one more free plastering workshop this summer. I don’t know. The workshop refereed to in this post actually happened last year. I forgot to put a date on it I guess. Sorry. The workshop will run from 9am on Friday to about 4pm on Sunday. If you want to come, please sign up on my workshop site: http://www.StrawBaleWorkshops.com and I will send you a “what to bring and how to get there” letter. Hope you can make it.

Hi Andrew -

Does the workshop cover full days Friday Saturday & Sunday? Since we live on the East Coast, I’m figuring out whether it’s cost effective to fly over for the workshop. Also would need to schedule flights around the proper time frame. Thanks.

Hi Brett. There is no public transportation to the site. It is a bout 15 minute out of town in the country where no buses run. You could get as close as Jacksonville on PT, but would have to get a ride or a cab from there. Carpooling could work well though. Hopefully someone from your area is headed South with room in the car.

Anyone driving down to the workshop from Washington State? I live in Seattle. What public transportation is close to the site? Still not sure I can make it, I’m a caregiver so I’m looking for someone to take over my duties ATM. Anyone doing straw bale in western Washington? or east of the mountains?

Vince, Not sure who Steve is, but I can answer your question. We will do the scratch coat on the inside of a bale cabin. The brown coat on the interior and exterior of another cabin, and the finish coat on the exterior of another cabin. If we have time, we can do finish on the interior of another cabin. That will depend on how far we get with the other stages.
