Did you know that there is an International Straw Bale Registry? Just a quick note to remind those of you who have built a straw bale house to register that home with the Straw Bale Registry. This is a great resource for people who are considering building and are looking for local contacts in their area to connect with. Please consider sharing your experience with the next person to help simplify the process and grow the exposure of straw bale construction worldwide.
This is a great resource for those of you looking to build as well, so be sure to reach out to those already registered on the list in your area. Click here to check it out today.

I am building a timber framed straw bale – cob home in the summer of 2014 near the Hogback Covered Bridge (movie fame).
Awesome Rich! Be sure to put it up on the registry once you’re done.
What happened to the International Straw Bale Registry link?
Hi Joyce. The registry is current “down” on their end. The link is still active and directed to the correct page.
Where do I find the registry?
Hi Joseph. It is still being rebuilt by the folks at Greenbuilder.com. Eventually, you’ll be able to find it at http://strawbaleregistry.org/
Andrew,
Of all the USDA funded self-help housing programs in the US, it looks like Community Rebuilds in Moab, Utah is the ONLY program using straw bale construction. Do you know of any publications or reports to verify this?
Hi Bryan. Thanks for connecting. I don’t know of anything that would support or refute this. Sorry.
