A friend of mine just finished baling his house (Wohoo!!) and has over 100 bales left over. He is willing to sell them for $3 each. That’s $1 less than he paid for them. If you’re interested, please respond here and I’ll make sure he gets in touch with you. The bales are in Ashland, Oregon.

Are they construction-grade bales? Dry? I’ll come pick them up if they are… Thanks!

We finished my bale walls in southern NH with a surplus of about 140 nice dry wheat straw bales (large, two string bales). Anyone in need of some bales here in New England?

Large bales of wheat straw for sale. Wheat straw is GREAT for livestock/ horse bedding, building insulation, landscape use, and mulchers. These bales are stored inside and have never been wet. $115 per ton or you can purchase by the bale for $25 each. The bales average 440 pounds. Delivery is available (free within 10 miles of Wolf Lake, IN). For more information contact Anthony Badorek 574-453-7762.

I’m not sure about near Portland (assuming Oregon). I have a good source in Medford, Oregon in Richard Neidermeyer. I believe he is actually listed as Central Point. I suggest you visit the co-op (farm and garden supply co-op that is) and ask them for a bale source. They will tell you they have bales, but they will be too expensive. Once you tell them how many you need, they will be more likely to connect you with their farmer directly. Good luck.

I am interested in purchasing straw bales in Redding area. Can you help with this? thanks. Kim

Hi Kim. I don’t have any specific sources in that area, but I do know that there are some major straw barns along I-5 just South of the Oregon border. Perhaps that would be a good place to start. Good luck and sorry I can’t help further.
