December 21, 2012…A New Beginning

native american elderHere’s a different look at today, as many want to call it the end of the world. I believe it closer to a new beginning than an end. I received the following text from my sister in a forwarded email. I hope that you find some resonance with it. I particularly like the areas that I have placed in bold. I also love the message from the Hopi Elder that is at the end of this blog entry.

I have heard this spoken for years and it has always touched a deep part of my soul: that part that wants to let go of the shore but finds reasons within fear not to. I have been learning to let go these many years, and I continue to learn each day.

I wish you all a wonderful day and that you find peace within yourselves and with those people around you.

Here’s the text of the message I received:

At 11.11 am GMT on the Winter Solstice of 21st December 2012 is the alignment between the Earth, the Sun and the Centre of the galaxy. This is possibly the most anticipated date in history; a new beginning. It has been spoken of not only by the Mayan, but also by the Hopi (native american), Ancient Egyptians, Yogic Vedas, Aboriginal and others. On this day there will be the end of a cycle of time – and in the same moment the beginning of the next cycle.

Milky Way

Our planet Earth takes one year to complete a full orbit of the Sun. Likewise our Sun takes a little less than 26,000 years to complete an orbit of the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy. This is a spiral galaxy with an unimaginable amount of light, and therefore consciousness, being emitted from the centre. Our Sun and solar system are about 2/3 of the way out from the centre.

Most of the time there is a lot of gas and nebula in-between us and the centre of the Milky Way. Like a cloudy day – the Sun is still shining, but not so much of the light actually gets to us. However there are two periods within this 26,000 year cycle when we emerge out from behind ‘the clouds’ and receive the full unfiltered light and consciousness from the centre.

This process of ‘coming out’ has been happening over the last 26 years starting in 1987, with an extra 2 weeks more each year in this ‘photon belt’. On the Winter Solstice 2012 we will arrive fully in this ‘photon band’ and this will herald an Age of Light for the next 2,000 years. The Age of Aquarius. With this increase in ambient light there is an expected evolutionary leap in consciousness, and a falling away of old paradigms and structures.

This Solstice I suggest to gather in community, or be with family and friends, in some form of celebration. True celebration is an invocation of light. Music, dance and meditation can be powerful prayers that are empowered by being shared with others.

Never before have so many people been alive. It is as if every soul associated with this planet is incarnated at this time. And never before has there been so much interconnection between us all through travel, communications technology, and multiple relationships and interactions. It seems to me that we are having as much experience in this one lifetime than would have previously taken 20  or even 100 lifetimes. I believe that this is meant as a window of opportunity to balance and clear karma before this transition.

This means making peace with ‘all your relations’ and your wider circle of companions. Say sorry to everyone that you need to, and be generous with forgiveness. Remember to tell those that you love that you love them! This can be done directly (phone your Mum!), or within your own inner healing work.

The effect of this lightens our soul’s burden and  we are able to more easily raise our consciousness to this higher frequency we are evolving into. If we hang onto old, toxic negative emotional energy it can pull us down into the places of suffering. By cleaning our hearts and minds we become lighter and more buoyant.

Practice Gratitude. The highest vibrations of consciousness have been photographed in water crystals as Love and Gratitude. This opens the heart and brings us into a positive outlook, which magnetizes further positive energy towards us.

Here’s a message from a Hopi Elder that speaks to the power and beauty of this moment, if we are willing to let go…

A HOPI ELDER SPEAKS
“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is THE HOUR. And there are things to be considered…
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said,
“This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.
And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

  1. This Elder speaks the truth. Only within ourselves can we make changes. Mother Earth has carried us for many years. And for many years man has done damage to her in many ways. She cries for our help, and we must do so by opening our eyes and correcting the damage that is being done to her. For without “Her”, we have nothing.
